Grace Presbyterian Church opened its doors on October 1st, 2012. Before we were GPC, we were three seperate Presbyterian congregations, all wondering who God was calling us to be in our city. We started worshipping together every Sunday night for a year before it became clear: God was calling us to get together and unite as one church.
Since opening our doors, we have been engaged in a truly exciting journey that has allowed us to reconsider and reimagine what church should look like in our world today. We don't believe that the ultimate goal of church is to decide who is in and who is out, how people should conform or not conform, how people should vote, or who people should love. Instead, we believe that engaging the Spirit is important and that God calls us to be agents of transformation in our city: transforming hopeless places into hopeful places, offering joy and freedom when life offers anxiety and limitation, looking for God's goodness in patterns of life that can sometimes feel mundane and pointless.
Our history and story has created us to be a diverse community of people that are united by the same pressing question: who is God in our lives, and who is God calling us to be? We're finding that, while the answer to that question is different for us as individuals, it is the same for us as a community: God is our hope, peace, joy and love, shown to us through Jesus, God's Son, and urging us to be those same agents of hope, peace, joy, and love in the world around us.
Of course, we're just getting started. If you'd like to be part of our story, we invite you to join us: you don't have to have all the right answers (we sure don't) or feel like you have this whole God thing down. You just have to be willing to wonder what God is doing in the world around you, and wonder if you want to be a part of it. All are welcome, all are invited!
WHAT WE DO
Grace Presbyterian Church is a new congregation here in Northeast El Paso. We are a group of imperfect believers who take joy in discovering the fullness of God's hope, peace, and love in both our lives and in our city.
We are imperfect followers of Jesus Christ, continually being transformed by God’s love and forgiveness. We are building a vibrant, welcoming community that expresses that love in word and in action. Together we will nurture, be nurtured, and bring help and hope to the world.
Here at Grace, we are inclusive and welcoming of everyone, no exceptions. If you are looking for a community of faith, or just need to reconnect with your spirit in a time of need, we invite you to join us!
FIND YOUR FAITH
Again, welcome to Grace. If there is anything we can do to help you leave your labels behind, pick up your God-given titles of hope, and build a mutually vibrant relationship with the Triune God, then know that we are here for you in every way!
